Altair cells which output Vega charts are rendered interactively in the browser. Due to limitations of Vega, making these responsive is a work in progress.

The same rules apply as for Plotly: the output of the cell is what matters, not the code in the cell. The Vega theme is adapted to both light and dark mode: this means that setting your own theming or using hardcoded colors is discouraged.
